Andreas Pereira gives update on Manchester United training

Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira said United's players are raring to go ahead of the Premier League restart in just a few days' time.

Top-flight clubs have not played in over three months due to the coronavirus pandemic but the campaign will resume next Wednesday.

Ahead of United's game against Tottenham two days later, Pereira told Sky Sports: “We’ve been waiting a long time without real answers. As soon as we knew that the season was going to start again we were very hyped and wanted to play.

“And now we have just a few days to go to play the game, it’s like everybody’s very sharp in training, everybody pays a lot of attention so we’re very eager that the season starts again.”

United's game away to Tottenham could be crucial in the race for Champions League qualification, but the midfielder is also targeting silverware in other competitions at the end of the campaign.

“It’s very important, the game against Tottenham. It will be a very difficult one because it’s the first game,” Pereira added. “It feels like when you come back from pre-season, the match rhythm is not 100 percent yet but we know it’s going to be hard for them as well.

“We’re going to make it a very tough job and we want to win because we have a Champions League spot to go for and we have the FA Cup and the Europa League, so we’re going full out in these two months really.

“We just have to push as a squad and make it the best two months we can get.”
