Andreas Pereira drops major hint over Manchester United future after Copa Libertadores error

Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira has thrown a huge question mark into the air surrounding his future, insisting that he wishes to remain with current side Flamengo until they win their next Copa Libertadores title.

The 25-year-old, who was loaned out to Brazil in August earlier this year, will remain in his homeland until his deal expires at the end of the domestic season. The United loanee has featured heavily so far for the Mengão and has largely impressed.

However, after suffering a disappointing defeat in this years edition of the famous Copa Libertadores competition — in which Pereira made a costly mistake, slipping at a vital moment to allow Deyverson to score an extra-time winner for Palmeiras — Flamengo have rallied round the player.

President Anderson Macula of Flamengo's supporter group, Raça Rubro Negra spoke exclusively to Pereira following their side's defeat adding: “Raise your head, brother, don’t be shaken. You have quality, you have potential.

"You are in the biggest club in the world, which is Flamengo. And next year we’ll win it”.

Pereira — whose current deal with United is set to expire in June 2023 — does have an option to buy deal within his current agreement with Flamengo, though it remains unsure whether the side will trigger the £16.9m fee needed to do so.

Pereira went on to thank fans for their support in a further interview as he added: ''You can count on me, I’ll stay here until we win the next one.''
