Andreas Christensen hopes that his Chelsea future will be resolved 'soon', though stayed clear of declaring that he was close to extending his time at Stamford Bridge.
The Danish defender's current deal expires at the end of the season along with Blues defenders Antonio Rudiger, Cesar Azpilicueta and Thiago Silva.
Christensen has been at the club for almost a decade with only a loan to Borussia Monchengladbach breaking up that period.
football.london understands that Chelsea and Christensen were close to an agreement over a new deal in August, but talks have since stalled with no progress made between the defender's representatives and the club over the final details.
There remains a belief at Chelsea that the 25-year-old will sign a new deal, after becoming a crucial cog in Thomas Tuchel's defence.
The Blues defender was reluctant to talk about is contract, but admitted he felt valued by the Blues amid reports he did not in terms of where his salary ranked at the club.
Christensen told B.T: "I will not comment on it, I have said that to Høyer (communications manager at DBU, ed.), Because you know everything that has been written.
"I can not do that at all. I feel valued, I'm happy, but I do not get into the contract situation."
Christensen has played in Chelsea's biggest games this season including all four Champions League ties, and has drawn links to the likes of Juventus, AC Milan and Atletico Madrid.
Regardless, the defender said that a clarification over his future will come 'hopefully soon' and is relaxed about the opportunity to talk to foreign clubs from January 1st as his contract winds down.
He added: "No. But I'm still happy and I enjoy football, so there is not so much. I'm happy.
"Again, I have no idea about it at all. I enjoy playing football and I do not feel that there is any pressure or anything. I just enjoy it.
"I do not know why everyone thinks it is a bad situation. Nobody has said it's bad, yes. [For] Both sides. Because I'm still happy and I enjoy playing football."
But, Chelsea should be keen to tie him down?
"Yes, but on the other hand, they also have a player who right now enjoys playing football and the coach shows him confidence," said Christensen, "There is no bad relationship, there is nothing."
