Andreas Christensen speaks out on suggestions that no Chelsea players will be sold this summer

Andreas Christensen insists that he's had no conversations with Chelsea about staying at the club - but that he wants to remain at Stamford Bridge.

The 23-year-old had been quoted by translations from the Danish press as saying that the Blues had told all players at the club that no one would be sold as a result of the two-window transfer ban that has been handed to them by Fifa, something the club is currently appealing against.

He's contracted for another three years but has seen his playing time limited under Maurizio Sarri since the Italian's arrival, with most of his appearances coming in cup competitions.

Sarri praised him after the 3-0 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion, a game that he started, but he was dropped from the starting XI for the next game against West Ham, although he could start again in Thursday night's tie with Slavia Prague.

Despite what he had been quoted as saying, Christensen cleared up those comments and insisted that no conversations with the club had taken place.

He said: “It's always difficult when I speak in Danish and it's translated. No, I haven't had a conversation with the club. I've said I'd like to say, but they haven't said I'm definitely staying.

"There's been no conversation. I've said what I want to happen, and that was definitely staying.

"I've still got a long contract. I'm still proud to be a Chelsea player. I've been here since I was 16. The club have done a lot for me. As soon as I signed a new contract, I didn't have anything to think about.”
