Andrea Radrizzani updates his plan to place Leeds United at the heart of a European club network

Andrea Radrizzani insists his immediate focus is on Leeds United as he gave an update on his plans to create a tightly-knit network of leading European clubs.

The Whites chairman has spoken about his desire to acquire multiple clubs on a series of occasions, highlighting the benefits it could bring Leeds in terms of developing players and also via commercial dealings.

But as he enjoys watching the Whites in their first season back in the Premier League following a 16-year absence, he is clearly prioritising the Elland Road club.

"There are clubs in Europe that looking at potential sales, but we are at this moment very focused on Leeds United so I don't see anything concrete in the short period," the Italian told the World Football Summit.

"But over time we will be keeping the eyes open to potentially evaluate the project on a bigger scale.

"As I said in another interview I have a vision to create a group of two or three clubs, but with a strong integration on the football side based in Europe, in other European leagues."

Crisis-hit Valencia were one club reported to be under consideration earlier this year, with Radrizzani credited with wanting to create a network along the lines Manchester City's City Football Group, albeit on a smaller scale than their Premier League rivals' model which stretches over five continents.
