Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani has sent a touching message to Kiko Casilla after he left to join Elche on loan.
The 34-year-old struggled for minutes last season due to the impressive form of Illan Meslier, making just five appearances in all competitions.
Casilla's lack of game time and inconsistency between the sticks prompted the Whites to sanction a loan move back to La Liga.
The former Real Madrid goalkeeper's current contract runs until 2023 after he joined on a four-year deal in January 2019.
Despite his struggles at Elland Road, Casilla was popular around the Leeds set up and Radrizzani has sent a touching message to the goalkeeper on Twitter after his loan was confirmed.
"Mucha gracias Kiko, an example of professionalism and dedication. @LUFC will be always your home," he wrote.
"You are a legend part of the team who made history for our club. Good luck in La Liga."
Radrizzani's message was a direct response to an emotional message posted by Casilla, signing off from Leeds duty.
" [It] is not easy for me to take this difficult decision for this season," he posted.
"This club and supporters make me feel something different, just amazing. We had hard moments and at the same time we had unforgettable moments too, but we were always together."
The Spaniard promised to support his side back from abroad during his upcoming loan spell.
"See you soon again! And of course, I will support from Spain every match! We will have a brilliant season for sure! More than ever... #marchingontogether."
