Andrea Radrizzani reaffirms his commitment to Leeds United after San Francisco 49ers investment

Leeds United chairman Andrea Radrizzani has reaffirmed his commitment to the club after the recent investment update.

The club have announced that NFL franchise the San Francisco 49ers have increased their stake in the club to 37%, up from the initial 15% in their original investment in 2018.

With news of further investment, there was also bound to be talk that some of the current hierarchy, like Radrizzani, may not remain at Elland Road in the long-term.

However, the Leeds chief has sent a message to supporters to reassure them that he is just as committed to building the club up as he ever has been.

“I want to assure all of our fans that my commitment and love for Leeds United is the same as the first day,” said Radrizzani, speaking to the club’s media outlet.

He added: “When I invested the first time in 2017, I could never have expected to feel such great love and passion from the city and the fans.

“This gives me a lot of responsibility and motivation to continue my journey and to achieve bigger results.”

Leeds are currently in the midst of their first season back in the Premier League, and Radrizzani admits maintaining their top flight status is the club’s immediate focus.

“For us this year it’s important for momentum to stay in the Premier League,” Radrizzani added.

“We have invested over £100m in players and we are the fifth club in all of Europe in investment in players and improving the squad.

“It’s an extreme priority to remain in the Premier League for next season, so all the focus is on that.

“At the same time the club needs to take this year to review the commercial strategy and improve the service to the fans.

“Hopefully next year when the stadium will be open again we can enjoy with our fans this amazing achievement that we have done to be back in the Premier League.”
