Andrea Radrizzani has weighed in on why Marcelo Bielsa remains reluctant to speak publicly in English.
Leeds United’s owner has been speaking to beIN Sports in an interview with Richard Keys and Andy Gray.
Across a variety of topics, Radrizzani was asked about his head coach’s English knowledge and how much he understands.
“A little, he understands, but I think I know why because he’s a man who weighs every word he says,” said Radrizzani.
“He feels more comfortable to speak in his native language because everything he says is important and has value to it.
“He’s not like myself or many other people who can maybe sometimes lose their meaning.”
Since Bielsa arrived in the summer of 2018 he has used a series of translators in every one of his press conferences with United.
First there was Salim Lamrani, then came his backroom staff: Marcos Abad, Carlos Corberan and, in the main, Diego Flores.
Andres Clavijo is the latest man to sit alongside Bielsa in his briefings.
Many of the Whites squad have openly admitted Bielsa uses English in training occasionally, but prefers to deliver his clearest instructions in Spanish for his coaches to translate.
