Andrea Radrizzani and Leeds United looking to seal Rodrigo transfer

Leeds United are looking to wrap up a deal for Valencia striker Rodrigo in the aim of beefing up their forward-line ahead of the start of the 2020/21 Premier League season.

The Whites, following promotion from the Championship last month, are desperate to add another option to their attacking ranks and it appears as though the Valencia star could be their answer.

According to reports in Spain, Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani and director of football Victor Orta have travelled to Spain to hold face-to-face talks with the La Liga club about the prospect of bringing him to Elland Road.

It is claimed that the Whites, who will travel to Anfield to face Liverpool on the opening day of the new season, are discussing a deal worth up to €40million, but no agreement has yet been reached.

Valencia currently find themselves in the midst of a financial crisis following the coronavirus pandemic and are in desperate need of trimming their squad in an attempt to raise funds, with both Dani Parejo and Francis Coquelin having already been sold this summer.

Though Rodrigo has two years remaining on his contract, Valencia may not be able to put up much of a fight in an attempt to keep hold of them, with them in desperate need of money and the striker highly likely to command a big wage.

It was not so long ago that the striker, who is 29, was linked with a move to Barcelona, which highlights just how big a talent he is.

Last season, the Spain international scored seven times in 34 appearances in all competitions.
