Andrea Pirlo's one-word verdict that should convince Arsenal to complete £34m transfer

Arsenal are expected to hold a meeting with Juventus next week to discuss a potential transfer for Dejan Kulusevski, according to recent reports.

La Repubblica, via GIFN, claim that Kulusevski's future with the Old Lady is in increasing doubt given his limited game time this season.

Gunners executives are therefore reportedly likely to arrive in Italy sometime over the next week, with the Serie A giants thought to be demanding around €40million (£34m) for the Sweden international whilst the north Londoners would prefer a deal at around €30m (£25.5m) plus €5m (£4.3m) in bonuses.

If former Juventus boss Andre Pirlo's opinion is anything to go by, Arsenal would be getting a hugely impressive player in Kuluveski, with the Italian issuing an impressive one-word verdict on the youngster, labelling him a "champion" last season.

“He is reacting as a champion," Pirlo said back in March when asked about the former Atalanta star.

"It's natural when coming to Juventus aged 20 that there's more pressure and every pass seems important. He is proving himself to be a champion in his mentality even quicker than he proves it on the field, so I expect great things."

The aforementioned report also claims that Tottenham Hotspur director Fabio Paratici is keen on Kulusevski and the former Juventus chief has also been full of praise for the Swede.

Speaking to Sky Italia earlier this year, Paratici said: "I think Kulusevski is having a great season. He’s scored a few goals, played at a high level, but don’t forget he is only 20 years old.

"He is also evolving in his role and is capable of taking on different positions in different tactical systems."

Kulusevski has started just four Serie A games this term, providing two assists in the process.
