Andrea McLean says she's learned to love her tummy scars after emergency surgeries

Andrea McLean has had multiple emergency surgeries, and has been left with scarring on her stomach.

And the Loose Women panelist, 50, has said she's learned to love her scars, reminding herself that she wouldn't be here today if she didn't have them.

She's had two emergency caesareans, surgery to correct an umbilical hernia and a hysterectomy in 2016 after suffering a series of gynaecological problems.

Andrea told Closer magazine: "My stomach is absolutely covered in scars - but without them, I might have died. In that way the pay-off is a no-brainer.

"I'm alive, I'm fine, so what do they matter?"

Andrea credited her husband Nick Feeney, 46, for helping her love her scars.

She added: "Nick and I laugh about them together - we call them my Lara Croft scars! My battle wounds.

"They don't bother him and they don't bother me."

She was then wed to builder Steve Toms, who is dad to her daughter Amy, 12.

Nick has two teenage daughters from a previous relationship.

Speaking to Hello magazine about their relationship, Andrea said: "I never thought I'd feel like this again, that I'd fall in love and get the chance to start a new life.

"It's been a revelation to him too. And because we make each other so happy, it's changed our lives.

"So many people have commented on how much more positive I've become since I met him. Thanks to Nick, I'm no longer looking backwards, I'm looking forwards."
