Andrea Bocelli tells packed Leeds Arena of hilarious wardrobe hiccup two hours before show

Andrea Bocelli is known as 'the world's most beloved tenor'. He's sold around 80 million records, and in Leeds last night, as expected, the global megastar was sensatonal in front of a sell-out crowd at Leeds First Direct Arena.

But, despite his decades of experience, it didn't quite go to plan for the singer in Leeds. And he wasn't afraid to tell the crowd how preparations took a turn for the worst, just two hours before the show!

"I want to tell you a story", Bocelli said ahead of his final song on the night.

"Two hours before the show tonight, I put on my nice white shirt, but then couldn't find my pants.

"I just couldn't find them, they weren't there, and unfortunately the shops were closed at this time so I didn't know what to do.

"I had to look for someone to borrow [lend] me their pants.

"I have to say, thank you to a certain cellist here on stage who was able to lend me his pants."

The crowd erupted in laughter, and the conductor pointed to the cellist responsible (who did have trousers on too!) for letting him borrow them.

It was an incredible moment during a spell-bounding performance by Bocelli and acted as a reminder that this man is human, somehow!
