Andrea Agnelli 'quits' Juventus reports denied as European Super League schemer's plot blows up in his face

Reports controversial Andrea Agnelli has quit Juventus after his European Super League dream turned into a nightmare have been denied.

It comes hours after the former European Club Association chief was ripped to shreds by hard-nosed UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin who branded him the "biggest disappointment of all."

Ed Woodward is heading for the exit door after the Manchester United chairman called time on his Old Trafford amid the Super League falling to pieces but Agnelli will not follow.

Manchester City and Chelsea both signalled their intentions to leave the breakaway league and all 12 "founding" members will meet on Tuesday night to officially scrap it.

Agnelli has long been regarded as one of the most controversial figures in European football in recent times

And Ceferin didn't miss him on Monday when he ripped out to all 12 teams - but had special disdain for the 45-year-old.

He said: “Andrea Agnelli is the biggest disappointment of all, I’ve never seen a person that would lie so many times, so persistently as he did. It’s unbelievable.

“Then he turned off the phone.

“Greediness is so strong that all the human values evaporate. It’s always good to know in life, who is who.”
