Marseille have suspended Andre Villas-Boas after he offered his resignation following the loan signing of Celtic's Olivier Ntcham.
The Portuguese gaffer shocked reporters as he handed in his notice during a press conference after criticising the Ligue 1 club's acquisition of the midfielder from Neil Lennon's side.
The Celtic midfielder joined the French side until the end of the season, with an option to buy in the summer, but Villas-Boas insists he did not find out about it until reading it in the news this morning.
Villas-Boas offered to step down as manager and Marseille have suspended him after the sensational outburst.
He said at today's press conference: "I just want to leave Marseille. I am not asking anything else from the board."
"I haven't heard back from the board yet about my offer to resign.
"It's a decision that was not made by me. This is a player I said no to. I didn't know about it, I found out when I woke up and went to the OM site.
"I don't want money, I just want to leave."
It's the second issue to hit Ntcham since leaving Celtic Park, with Marseille fans fizzing over his signing after he publicly admitted he supported PSG.
In a previous interview, he said: "I am a supporter of Paris Saint-Germain and I have always been.
"They are a team that I follow regularly, I try to watch all the matches, I support them. When they score, it does something to me."
