Andre Roberson progressing with his rehabilitation

Oklahoma City Thunder general manager Sam Presti provided updates on a few things following the 2019 NBA Draft on Thursday. Among them were updates on both Paul George and Andre Roberson.

George had rotator cuff surgery done on his right shoulder in May, then surgery to address a labrum tear in his left shoulder earlier in June. The plan remains the same with the 2019 MVP candidate: he will be reassessed at the start of training camp.

Presti also confirmed to reporters there had been “no surprises” with George, per Maddie Lee of The Oklahoman.

Additionally, Presti spoke about Andre Roberson, who missed most of 2017-18 and all of 2018-19 at a result of rupturing his left patellar tendon in January of 2018:

Also, a recent report indicating Roberson had been made available in trade talks, along with Steven Adams and Dennis Schroder. Although he didn’t speak specifically about the rumor, Presti did address the team’s financial situation, per Erik Horne of The Oklahoman:

Last season in order to keep Paul George and Jerami Grant in Oklahoma City, we were going to have to be aggressive in that situation. Where we are right now, we’re not going to be able to sustain that over a long period of time.
