Andre Roberson continues to progress toward return

Not only did the Oklahoma City Thunder suffer a huge loss for the 2017-18 season when Andre Roberson ruptured his left patella tendon on January 27, 2017, they wouldn’t see him for the entire 2018-19 season after setbacks, which included an avulsion fracture.

Now the hope with Roberson is he’ll be available for the upcoming season, though he’s walking into a situation where each night he may be upping his trade value rather than work toward competing in the postseason.

Given what Roberson has experienced, just getting back on the court and being able to stay out there should be what matters most for him at this stage.

Erik Horne of The Oklahoman spoke with Roberson’s father, John, about the Thunder wing’s current status.

He feels really good. When you get injured, it takes a toll on you mentally because you’re constantly doubting yourself and that things are going to hold up mentally. I think that’s the biggest hurdle he’s had to get over.

John added:

I think he’s at that point where training camp will tell a whole lot.

Considering what Andre has gone through, his father’s cautious assessment of the situation seems as optimistic as one can get.
