Andre Iguodala tweets cryptic message after Durant’s free agency news is announced

Prior to the start of free agency on Sunday night, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski announced what the Golden State Warriors had feared for much of the season would come to fruition: Kevin Durant was taking his talents elsewhere. But instead of the Knicks as the intended New York destination, Durant will reportedly sign a four-year, $164 million deal with the Brooklyn Nets.

Reports during the season also indicated that Durant had a desire to join forces with free agent Kyrie Irving, who was offered a four-year deal as well. Now, Andre Iguodala has weighed in on Durant’s announcement via his seemingly preferred communication method: cryptic tweet. “I need that Magic meme,” he wrote.

By “Magic meme,” Iguodala is referring to the many memes that emerged from Magic Johnson’s spontaneous news conference announcing is immediate resignation from the Los Angeles Lakers in April.

“I’m not gonna be here,” Magic said through a facial expression many in the Twitterverse found hilarious.

Now, let’s watch all of Dub Nation and pundits pick apart whether Iguodala was referring to Durant or to himself. Is Iguodala simply making a joke about Durant’s departure? Or is he signaling his own?
