Andre Iguodala did not practice with Warriors Friday, hopeful for Finals

The Golden State Warriors still have plenty of time before Game 1 of the NBA Finals in either Milwaukee or Toronto on May 30. That gives the team plenty of time to heal up from their bumps and bruises.

While Kevin Durant is still a little ways away from returning from his calf strain, there is hope for a return from Andre Iguodala. The Warriors’ lock-down defender missed Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals series sweep of the Portland Trail Blazers with his own left calf injury.

Iguodala suffered the injury in Golden State’s Game 3 win in Portland. Despite his MRI coming back as clean, he sat out in Game 4.

With the Finals beginning in five days, there’s still plenty of rest time for him to get ready to go. With the potential of facing elite small forwards like Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo or Toronto’s Kawhi Leonard, the Warriors would like to at least have Iguodala on the floor to combat those two on the defensive end if Durant can’t go.

Antetokounmpo averaged 23 points, 12 rebounds, and 4.5 assists in two games against Golden State while Leonard played one game and scored 37 points with eight rebounds.

These two will be a handful for the Warriors to handle in the Finals, so they had better hope their main guys can get healthy and ready to go.
