Andre Gomes outlines his Everton ambition after scoring Premier League high against Arsenal

The effortlessly elegant Andre Gomes says he wants to be a "top player for the next few years" - and Everton's impressive midfielder believes the strong chemistry he enjoys with his Everton team-mates is helping him to achieve that aim.

The Portuguese playmaker was in outstanding form again during Sunday's victory over Arsenal, compiling an impressive array of personal statistics.

Gomes hit 36 accurate passes in the opposition half – more than any other player on the pitch.

His passing accuracy of 89.5 per cent was better than any other individual who completed the 90 minutes at Goodison Park .

And he set a Premier League high for last weekend's fixtures of 7.8 miles covered, more than any other player.

But he told evertonfc.com: "I think I have much more to do and, honestly, much more to learn.

"I am trying to train hard, enjoy it day by day and learn with the players and the staff.

"I want to be a top player for the next years.

" Marco Silva has been very good for me, but not just the manager, all of his coaching staff too.

"And if you have good teammates with high quality, too, you will learn much more, so I have to thank all of them.

"We have a lot of players who have got very good ability, especially on the ball. It is really good when all the players have the confidence to keep playing.

"There is a lot of high quality around me, so it is easier for me to play and create the space for them. We try to get the chemistry with players around us.

"So I enjoy it a lot playing with them. We are very happy with how we are playing at the moment."

Since his debut in late October, Gomes has started 22 of Everton's 24 Premier League matches and Blues fans would love the club to make his loan move from Barcelona a permanent deal.

Gomes already boasts an impressive football CV which includes being an influential part of the Portugal team which triumphed at the 2016 European Championships in France, winning league titles with Barcelona and Benfica and helping the Portuguese giants reach the Europa League final in 2013.
