Andre Gomes joins in with Everton training as recovery from horror injury progresses

Andre Gomes was involved in part of Everton's training session this morning as he continues his recovery from a broken ankle.

The midfielder looked set to be ruled out for most of the season after undergoing surgery on the horror injury he sustained against Tottenham Hotspur in early November.

But Gomes is ahead of schedule and took part in some of the session at Finch Farm earlier today before doing individual work.

Richarlison, who has missed the last two games because of a knee injury, was also part of the session with Alex Iwobi (hamstring) and Gylfi Sigurdsson (groin) also involved after they were sidelined for the last six, and two, league games respectively.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin was forced to sit out with a minor knock but is expected to train again on Wednesday as Carlo Ancelotti ramps up preparations for the trip to Watford.

Everton will have been out of action of 11 days when they go to Vicarage Road and following the game with Crystal Palace on February 8, the Blues head into a two week winter break before they face Arsenal at the Emirates.
