Andre Drummond takes aim at Lakers’ Frank Vogel in Instagram comment

Among the numerous decisions the Los Angeles Lakers must make this offseason, re-signing Andre Drummond is near the top of the list.

The Lakers signed Drummond to a minimum deal after Drummond and the Cleveland Cavaliers mutually agreed to buy out his contract.

Drummond started in all 21 games he played for L.A. in the regular season, averaging 11.9 points, 10.2 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.0 blocks in 24.8 minutes per game.

Drummond converted on 53 percent of his 9.1 attempts per game and shot 60.5 percent from the free-throw line on 3.6 attempts.

The 27-year-old center also started five playoff games against the Phoenix Suns this season, but he was benched for Game 6, which head coach Frank Vogel said was for defensive purposes.

While re-signing Drummond could be possible for L.A., Drummond looks as if he wants Vogel to involve him more, according to his latest Instagram comment Tuesday:

A commenter responded to Drummond’s Instagram post saying they wished Drummond controlled the paint like Brook Lopez and Deandre Ayton, the two centers in the NBA Finals, do.

Drummond responded with “tell y’all coach play me more and I could.”

This comment comes after Drummond told a commenter “you drunk” after they suggested Drummond re-sign on another minimum deal.

Drummond later posted this on his Twitter Tuesday:

Vogel stuck with Drummond on the court even though his minutes with Anthony Davis clogged the paint and hurt the spacing for the Lakers’ offense, which came back to bite the squad in the playoffs.

Maybe more minutes and games will help Drummond adjust to Vogel’s offensive system, which could be revamped, but only time will tell if L.A. wants Drummond back.

Drummond will be an unrestricted free agent on Aug. 2 when the market opens.
