DETROIT _ The Detroit Pistons made to two straight with a 98-83 victory Sunday night over the Milwaukee Bucks at the Palace.
Andre Drummond had his second-straight 20-rebound night with a dominating 23 rebounds to go along with 20 points, as the Pistons (2-1) remained perfect on the early-season three-game homestand. It's his 10th career 20-20 game.
He was also 4-for-8 at the free-throw line. One of the league's worst free-throw shooters is 50 percent from the line (6-for-12) through the season's first three games.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope had his first good shooting game of the season with 21 points on 7-for-13 shooting.
Tobias Harris scored an efficient 16 points on 7-for-12 shooting.
Bucks standout Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Bucks (1-2) with 17 points, but was 5-for-16 from the field. Marcus Morris had primary defensive responsibilities.
The Pistons made seven of their first eight shots in taking a 16-9 lead before the first time-out. Harris was the main option, going 3-for-3, which included two 3-pointers.
The Pistons took a 24-21 lead into the first quarter after shooting 55 percent, but committed five turnovers.
Drummond brought the Palace crowd to its feet at the 9:41 mark of the second quarter. He jumped a pick-and-roll to come up with the steal. He quickly found Jon Leuer at half-court and proceeded to sprint up the floor to fill the lane on the fast-break.
Leuer delivered a picture-perfect chest pass to Drummond, who brought home a demonstrative one-handed windmill dunk to give the Pistons a 32-23 lead.
Bucks guard Rashad Vaughn, back on defense, made a business decision to let Drummond finish the possible SportsCenter top 10 play. Bucks coach Jason Kidd called time-out, and Drummond did a demonstrative shimmy at the stoppage in play.
The Pistons pushed their lead to 13 before settling for a 50-39 lead at halftime.
The Bucks cut Pistons lead to 62-60 on an Antetokounmpo free throw.
But a Bucks turnover led to a Caldwell-Pope fast-break dunk, and Harris followed with a put-back off an offensive rebound to push the Pistons lead back to six with 3 minutes left in the third quarter.
The Pistons used a 7-0 run to take a 75-65 lead into the fourth quarter.
