Andre Dillard’s pass-blocking is already in veteran form according to grades from PFF

The Philadelphia Eagles drafted former Washington State offensive tackle Andre Dillard, with the 22nd overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft and he’s already paying huge dividends. Dillard is the replacement for Jason Peters at left tackle and during his first bout of action against the Tennessee Titans, he showed why the Eagles and Ravens both coveted him.

According to Pro Football Focus, Dillard was one of the highest-graded tackles during the first week of the preseason and showed that he’s already in veteran form when it comes to pass protection.

Dillard logged 22 snaps in pass protection and didn’t allow a single sack, hit or hurry, giving him a perfect night pass blocking wise. Dillard can definitely get better as a run blocker, as he only produced a run-blocking grade of 62.3.

Still, it was a pretty positive debut and coupled with his intensity during practice this week, the best is yet to come.
