Andre Bent murder: CCTV appeal following fatal stabbing of S Club 7 star's cousin in Maidstone

Police are looking to trace a man they believe has information linked to the murder of Andre Bent in Maidstone.

Londoner Mr Bent, the cousin of S Club 7 star Bradley McIntosh, was fatally stabbed during an incident in Maidstone.

A murder investigation was launched following his death, on August 25, and police today released images of a man they want to speak to.

A statement from Kent Police said the man "may have important information".

It added: "Enquiries into Andre’s death are ongoing and detectives from the Kent and Essex serious crime directorate would like to hear from anyone who recognises the male in the CCTV images."

Four men have been charged with violent disorder in connection with Mr Bent's death.

A fifth man was arrested and bailed on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon and perverting the course of justice.

Mr McIntosh revealed on stage his cousin was the victim of the attack, as he asked crowds at a festival to hold a minute's silence.

Speaking to the Standard earlier this week at Mr Bent’s family home in West Norwood, his uncle appealed for witnesses to come forward and contact police.

“Any information anyone’s got, bring it forward, that’s what we need right now,” he said.

The victim’s sister Michaela said: “He did not deserve this. I will not see my brother again and nothing can change that.

“What we can do is find the person who did this and let justice serve its course.”

Anyone with information linked to the incident is urged to call the dedicated appeal line on 01622 654864, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
