Andraz Sporar to Celtic transfer latest as Hoops open talks with talisman

Slovan Bratislava chief Ivan Kmotrik has revealed talks have taken place with Celtic over striker Andraz Sporar.

The Slovenia international is amongst the attackers on the Parkhead transfer target list as manager Neil Lennon looks to strengthen his squad during next month’s window.

Lennon has confirmed an interest in the 25-year-old and Kmotrik revealed to Slovak media that he was due in Vienna for discussions with the Scottish champions.

Sporar’s valuation has rocketed this term after scoring 20 goals including Europa League group stage strikes.

Speaking to Sport24, Kmotrik said: “There are many people interested in Andraz and Celtic is the most aggressive yet.

“We have a meeting with the representatives of this club right now and we’ll see what happens.

"So far nothing is clear. We still don’t have an offer we would like to accept.

“We will not sell him cheaply and we will not release him for two or three million euros.

“His quality not only corresponds to the Slovak League, but also to the European level. We saw it in the Europa League. An offer of 2.5 or 3 million Euros would be disastrous. His market value is much higher.”
