Andraz Sporar set for further Celtic talks as Bristol City join transfer race

Celtic are set to ramp up their bid for sharp shooter Andraz Sporar amid growing interest in the Slovan Bratislva hitman.

Parkhead chiefs held preliminary talks with the Slovakian club last week and are set to get back around the table in the coming days.

Celts are leading the chase to land the £5m rated striker but Dynamo Kiev are also interested and Bristol City have also now joined the race.

The English Championship outfit are in the market for a frontman and are in the hunt to land Arsenal youngster Eddie Nketiah and Liverpool kid Rhian Brewster of Liverpool on loan deals.

But the Robins have also scouted Sporar and are preparing to compete with Celtic to land the targetman.

The 25-year-old is hot property after notching 20 goals in 26 appearances for Bratislava in Slovenia and in the Europa League.

Hoops boss Neil Lennon has been impressed by reports and is keen to add a powerful striker to bolster his attacking options.

He has admitted Sporar is on his radar and said: “He’s one of a number of options we are talking to at the minute.”
