Andoni Iraola confirms there's been 'no change' in his situation amid Leeds United links

Andoni Iraola says his situation hasn't 'changed' at Rayo Vallecano amid reports linking him with the managerial vacancy at Leeds United.

Iraola emerged as an early frontrunner along with former Leeds assistant and under-23 head coach Carlos Corberan following Jesse Marsch's sacking on Monday.

However, Corberan penned a new long-term deal at West Brom, and Vallecano blocked Leeds' attempt to approach Iraola. Leeds have since suffered another setback with Arne Slot dropping out of the running by announcing his desire to stay at Feyenoord.

Iraola has addressed his future in a recent press conference by confirming that there have been no changes to his situation this week, and that he is still committed to his current employers.

“It’s true that there has been noise but my situation hasn’t changed,” Union Rayo report him saying at a Saturday press conference.

“Neither at the level of contract nor at the level of commitment, I’m still focused on Rayo. There have been no changes this week. I don’t think the team is affected by this.”
