Andi Weimann sends message after his milestone Bristol City appearance vs Middlesbrough

It was a milestone evening for Andi Weimann at Bristol City against Middlesbrough last night.

The 29-year-old Austrian made his 100th appearance in a Bristol City shirt, but unfortunately it didn't go to plan for him and the Robins as they lost out for the first time in the Championship this season.

George Saville netted the only goal of the game at Ashton Gate, bringing an end to Bristol City's unbeaten start to the new Championship season.

Weimann started in midfield for Dean Holden's side, as he made his seventh appearance of the season, bringing his total number of games for City to 100.

After the game, City put out a tweet to mark the milestone today, with Weimann taking to Twitter to respond to the club with a five-word message, stating: "Hopefully many more to come."

The former Aston Villa man has been a regular for the Robins since joining from Derby County in July 2018, scoring 21 goals in his time at the club so far.

That includes a hat-trick in a 3-2 win against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane in March 2019, which was his first career hat-trick and the first by a Bristol City player away from home in the top tiers of English football since Kevin Mabbutt in 1978.

He scored ten goals in his first season with the club, before netting nine times last season.

So far this season, Weimann has scored in City's victories against Stoke City and Nottingham Forest.
