Andhra Pradesh: Woman beheads husband, carries head to police station

TIRUPATI: An enraged woman brutally killed her husband following a heated altercation and severed his head on Thursday. She later surrendered before Renigunta police near Tirupati.

Renigunta police inspector Anju Yadav said Ravi Chandran, 53, and Vasundhara, 50, residents of police lines in Renigunta, have been often indulging in altercations over domestic issues. They have a 20-year-old son. He said the couple has been leading a disturbed family life.

Following a heated exchange of words with her husband, Vasundhara slit his throat and later severed the head using a knife in a fit of rage. She later stuffed her husband's head in a cloth bag and started walking with blood stained clothes towards the Renigunta urban police station to surrender herself.

Police registered a case and are further investigating.
