Andhra Pradesh: Vizag youth summits North America's Mount Denali

VISAKHAPATNAM: A 29-year-old Anmish Varma Bhupatiraju scaled Mount Denali, the North America continent’s highest mountain. Varma is not only a mountaineer but also a kickboxing champion. It is recalled that the Anmish scaled Mount Everest in the first week of June 1 of 2021 despite adverse weather conditions.

The MBA graduate Varma began his expedition in the third week of May this year when he reached Anchorage Alaska in America on May 23. The team left for a 19 days long expedition to reach the top of Mount Denali.

He reached the summit of Mount Denali at an altitude of 6,190 meters on Sunday evening at around 5.30 pm. Anmish Varma summit of Denali was confirmed by his coach Shekhar Babu Bachinepally.

He got a call from a satellite phone from the lower camps on Wednesday morning. He was informed that all team members are safe and doing good.

The team will come down to anchorage in two days and to India by June 17.

Varma focused on scaling seven summits in the world and he had already scaled Mt Everest (8848 meters) in 2021, he scaled Mt Kilimanjaro (5895 mts), the highest mountain in Africa, in 2020. He conquered Mt. Aconcagua (6961 meters) in South America in five days in February of 2020.

Now, he scaled the highest peak in the North American continent.
