TIRUPATI: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams administration has placed Sri Venkateswara Oriental college principal and warden under suspension after charges of sexual abuse against them were proved by an internal vigilance department enquiry.
According to TTD sources, a group of girls at the Oriental college hostel allegedly bought and consumed non vegetarian food at the TTD hostel premises recently.
As consumption of non vegetarian food is strictly prohibited at TTD hostel premises, the Principal and warden summoned the girl students to their room and allegedly misbehaved with them.
Following a complaint lodged by the hostel girls, TTD's vigilance and security department recently conducted an enquiry and principal B Surendra and warden Ramanadham were found guilty of the charges.
After the TTD vigilance department submitted its fact finding report before the administrative top brass of the temple body, Oriental college principal and warden were placed under suspension on Friday.
Meanwhile, pro-women groups staged protests at the SV Oriental college premises demanded the police to arrest B Surendra and Ramanadham who allegedly tried to sexually abuse innocent girl students pursuing education at the TTD institution.
