Andhra Pradesh: Tirumala Brahmotsavam begins with low pilgrim turnout

TIRUPATI: The 9-day annual Brahmotsavams of Lord Venkateswara began with a low pilgrim rush at Tirumala on Tuesday.

TTD chairman YV Subba Reddy and EO AV Dharma Reddy inaugurated the media centre and a few exhibition stalls earlier in the day.

A battery of TTD priests ceremoniously carried out the Dwajarohanam later in the evening inside the hill temple, signaling the commencement of the Tirumala Brahmotsavams.

Later in the night, Lord Malayappa Swamy blessed the devotees on the Pedda Sesha vahanam procession, which is the first procession of the annual Brahmotsavams.
