Andhra Pradesh: SSC results deferred, to be out tomorrow

VIJAYAWADA: The Directorate of Government Examinations postponed the declaration of SSC results on Saturday. The results will now be declared on Monday.

Education department officials on Thursday had announced that the evaluation of SSC answer sheets was completed. The Board had also announced that special chief secretary B Rajasekhar would announce the results on Saturday.

Altogether 6.2 lakh students were waiting for the results and a press conference was to have been held at the R&B complex at MG Road in the city.

Officials initially announced that the press conference was postponed to later in the day due to technical reasons. Later, the director of government examinations D Devananda Reddy announced they were unable to declare results, also due to technical reasons. "We are unable to declare SSC results today. Results will be declared on Monday. Parents and students are requested to notice the change," Reddy told the media.

Meanwhile, parents, students, student associations and political parties expressed their anger at the delay. "Officials didn't have any information about the cancellation of the programme and they made arrangements for a press conference. But they cancelled the event all of a sudden. This will result in stress on students," said A Ravichandra, state president of Progressive Democratic Student Union (PDSU).
