AMARAVATI: Taking strong objection to the late YS Vivekananda Reddy's daughter, Sunitha Reddy's allegations, the state government advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy alleged that Sunitha has become a pawn in the hands of TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu.
He said that Sunitha is making baseless allegations only to divert the probe into the murder.
He said that there is a campaign on social media that Sunitha is keen to contest the next elections as TDP candidate. Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy found fault with CBI for not looking at the reasons that could have led to the murder of the YSRC leader and former minister. .
Sajjala said the CBI should change its track and take up fair and impartial probe. He said that they would take up the issue with the Union home minister Amit Shah and the CBI director. He said that they would not hesitate to take the issue to the notice of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi if situation warrants.
He said the party has been silent for long on the issue as chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy does not wish to influence any investigation.
"We have decided to take on the CBI, TDP and Sunitha's baseless allegations as they have all joined hands to malign the image of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and Kadapa MP Avinash Reddy," said Sajjala.
He asked why CBI was not looking at the motives behind Sunitha and her husband, Rajasekhara Reddy, not handing over the last letter written by Vivekananda Reddy to the police till the evening. He said the murder was taken place in the presence of those employed by Viveka's family. "The CBI has recorded statements of several witnesses under section 161 of CrPC. Although there is no legal sanctity for such statements, it is really surprising that all the statements were similar and pointing fingers at Avinash Reddy. Is it the way an agency like CBI to probe the case?" he asked.
