VISAKHAPATNAM: Andhra Pradesh on Thursday reported 1,859 new Covid-19 cases, taking the cumulative caseload to 19,88,910. The death toll increased to 13,595 as 13 more patients succumbed to the virus.
As many as 1,575 patients recovered and the total recoveries now stand at 19,56,627. The number of active cases rose by 271 to 18,688. Krishna district has 3,132 active cases followed by East Godavari (3,057), Chittoor (2,783) and Nellore (2,595).
East Godavari district reported 402 cases, the highest number of cases in any district in the state followed by Chittoor (233), Nellore (225), West Godavari (195), Guntur(182), Kadapa (148), Krishna (144), Visakhapatnam (123) and Prakasam (96). Four districts reported less than 50 cases with lowest reported in Kurnool district (19).
Chittoor district reported four fresh fatalities, Krishna three, East Godavari and Prakasam two each and Nellore and Visakhapatnam one each. State on Thursday tested 70,757 samples. Case positivity rate is 2.62 per cent. Overall rate stands at over 7.8 per cent.
