Andhra Pradesh: Rahul Gandhi to visit Vizag soon

VISAKHAPATNAM: The former Union minister and special invitee to Congress Working Committee (CWC) Chinta Mohan said that party leader Rahul Gandhi would visit Vizag soon and participate in the Visakha steel agitation.

Rahul Gandhi had already extended his support to the steel plant agitation, he said. The former Union minister made sensational comments against the late CM Dr YSR also.

Speaking to media persons on Wednesday, Chinta Mohan said that the former PM Indira Gandhi had nationalized private companies but the present PM Narendra Modi is now selling them to corporate companies. "We will run the steel plant if Congress comes into power. The state government is not in a position to oppose the Central government's decisions now," he accused.

Mohan alleged that many Central government funds have been diverted to other needs. The state government had not paid the fee reimbursement scholarships for the past two years. He demanded that the government should deposit the funds in student accounts by November 1.

He made sensational comments by alleging that the Congress party did a mistake in 2004 by appointing Dr YSR as chief minister.

"If YSR was not appointed as CM then where would Jagan be now? Because of Jaggan only, the state has been facing many problems. There is dearth in the leadership of Congress in the state. We are searching for efficient leaders. There will be a shuffle in the AP PCC soon. The next Prime Minister would be Rahul Gandhi," Chinta Mohan said.
