Andhra Pradesh: Property tax collection up by 16% in Vijayawada

Property tax collection by the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation went up by 15.7% during the current fiscal (April 2021-March 2022) compared to the previous financial year.

Against the proportional demand of ₹340.33 crore, the civic body collected ₹123.35 crore as of Thursday evening. It is 36.2% of the property tax demand, while last year (April 2020-March 2021) only ₹106.59 crore was collected.

On Thursday, the last day of the fiscal year, ₹3.9 crore property tax was paid by property owners in the city.

Also, VMC achieved 44% water tax collection as ₹28.29 crore were against the demand of ₹64.3 crore was paid by the citizens. It was 5.1% rise of the tax collected in the previous fiscal.
