Vijayawada: The proposed new districts would start functioning from Ugadi day, the Telugu New Year, falling on April 2, 2022.
The collectors and SPs of the present districts would move to the new districts, while the existing districts would have new officers.
Chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy held a review with the officials at his Tadepalli camp office on Thursday on the new districts formation. He directed the officials to find out suitable places to locate district offices, including the offices for the collectors and the SPs. He also told the existing collectors to take up works for construction of buildings for the district level offices in the new districts. He also told the existing collectors to identify private buildings to house the district level offices till the permanent buildings are constructed.
The chief minister also told the officials to start the work on division of employees in every department. He told the officials to take serious note of the objections or suggestions from the people on the new districts and the boundaries.
He told them to prepare the districts maps and keep them ready before the actual functioning of new districts.
