Andhra Pradesh: Nellore cops ‘crack’ missing documents case

VIJAYAWADA: Nellore police with the help of a CCTV footage nabbed two persons, who allegedly stole the court documents and a few gadgets, which are the key evidence in the defamation case against newly-sworn in minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy. The defamation case was filed by senior TDP leader and former minister Somireddy Chandra Mohan Reddy in 2016. The duo was allegedly involved in 14 theft cases earlier.

Nellore SP Ch Vijaya Rao told media that the police had cracked the sensational theft case in Nellore court that has caused a huge stir in the state politics. The police claimed that Syed Hayat of Quddus Nagar in Nellore and Khaza Rasool of Porlukatta were involved in the theft. The duo are serial offenders and they are involved in 14 theft cases in the past, the police alleged.

SP: Miscreants planned to steal iron rods

The SP said the miscreants planned to steal iron rods from a construction site nearby the court. When street dogs there started barking and running towards them, they were scared and ran into the court complex by breaking the lock to save themselves from the canines.

The stolen tablets, laptops, four cell phones, and seven SIM cards were seized from the accused. The SP also said there was no political interference in the theft and the arrests were made after an indepth investigation and with all evidence.
