TIRUPATI: State panchayat raj minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy on Sunday inaugurated the new school buildings built at a cost of Rs 60.35 lakh under the Nadu-Nedu programme at Pedda Upparapalli village in Andhra Pradesh's Chittoor district.
Reddy said that additional buildings will be constructed by spending Rs 96 lakh additionally very soon. Later, the minister laid the foundation stone for various development works at Punganur assembly constituency.
He added that chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was giving top priority to the progress of various development works in the district. The state government had sanctioned Rs 2,700 crore to provide tapped drinking water to every single home in the three assembly constituencies of Tamballapalle, Madanapalle and Punganur.
"Construction of reservoirs to tap the rainwater is under way at Tamballapalle, Punganur and Avulapalli areas. Overhead water tanks are being constructed in every village in these constituencies which suffer from perennial drought conditions", he asserted.
