Andhra Pradesh: Man who cheated over 100 women lands in police net

TIRUPATI: Chittoor II town police arrested a 42-year-old former government employee on charges of duping at least 100 women through matrimonial sites. The accused, identified as Karanam Reddy Prasad, is a native of Kasirala village in Tamil Nadu's Arakkonam.

DSP N Sudhakar Reddy said the accused created fake profiles on matrimonial websites and lured women from rich backgrounds by promising to marry them. "He claimed to be working as a deputy director in the animal husbandry department in Chittoor. After establishing contact with the victims, he would seek a loan of around 25,000 and then vanish. He has cheated at least 100 women so far," he said.

The matter came to light when one of the victims approached M Prabhakar, the original deputy director working with animal husbandry department in Chittoor.
