VIJAYAWADA: A man was arrested on Wednesday for attempting to sexually assault his eight-year-old girl niece in Guntur district.
The accused (24) is a daily wage labourer. On Tuesday, the girl’s father did not return home at night.
Worried, her mother asked the girl to bring a mobile phone from the accused so she could call her husband. Accordingly, the girl went to her uncle’s house.
When she took too long to return, her mother grew suspicious and went to the accused’s house. To her shock, she found her daughter naked even as the accused was about to sexually assault the girl. When the woman shouted, the accused fled the spot.
