TIRUPATI: Temples of various incarnations of Lord Vishnu have been spruced up for the annual Vaikunta Ekadasi festival set to be celebrated on a grand note on Thursday in Tirumala in Andhra Pradesh's Chittoor district.
Several VVIPs including Chief justice of India Justice NV Ramana, chief justices of various high courts, central and state ministers, celebrities, industrialists etc are queuing up to the sacred abode of Lord Venkateswara.
Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has made elaborate arrangements for the grand conduct of the festival without compromising on the Covid-19 guidelines.
After the conduct of certain pre-dawn religious formalities, the Vaikunta Dwaram encircling the sanctum sanctorum of the hill temple will be opened for the devotees for a period of 10 days from Thursday morning.
TTD has made elaborate barricading arrangements at various local temples anticipating heavy rush even as pilgrim footfall at Tirumala is still being regulated at 1/3rd levels of the original capacity owing to the Covid-19 situation.
