TIRUPATI: Kurnool district police wing of Andhra Pradesh seized 177 red sanders logs weighing 3.8 tons worth Rs 3.84 crore at the Nannur toll plaza in Orvakal mandal in the late hours on Sunday.
Kurnool superintendent of police CH Sudheer Kumar Reddy said the driver of the truck identified as K Siva Kumar (30) was taken into custody.
Orvakal police registered a case under sections 379, 120 (b) r/w 34 of the IPC along with various sections of the Andhra Pradesh forest amendment Act 2016, section 51 of the Wildlife Protection Act 1997 and section 3 of Prevention of Damage of the Public Property Act.
