VIJAYAWADA: Chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday asked officials to activate the health cards system to as- sess the health condition of every individual in the state.
He also told the officials to implement the family doctor system, where the doctors are attached to some families for regular check-up.
The chief minister spoke to the health officials during the review on Covid-19 situation in the state at his Tadepalli camp office.
He wanted the officials to issue health card to every individual with all health details included in it. The patient should be able to get the medicare anywhere by producing the health card. The card should have the health record in the back offices starting from the primary health care centre or village clinic to the district headquarters hospital, he said.
He also directed the officials to assign families to every doctor working from the village level to the district level. The doctors should visit the families on regular intervals and should know thebasic health records of every member of the family, the chief minister said.
Jagan expressed concern over the children’s health particularly in thelight of the impending third wave. He also wanted the officials to focus on bringing down the infant mortality rate and prepare best guidelines for Family Health Doctors concept.
Referring to the new medical colleges coming up in the state, the chief minister told the officials to start PG courses and ensure paramedical staff get required training and skill upgradation.
