VISAKHAPATNAM: A married constable of anti-maoist force Greyhounds committed suicide by hanging himself to the ceiling at his home in PM Palem in the city on Thursday due to an alleged love affair with another woman.
The deceased was identified as Suresh Kumar of Rampachodavaram in East Godavari.
The AP Special Police (APSP) constable married a woman of Razole town in East Godavari district after a couple of years of love six years ago and was blessed with a baby girl. The 2009 batch constable Suresh developed a relationship with a woman at PM Palem by not revealing his marital status.
He informed his wife about the extramarital affair and sought her permission to marry the other girl too. His wife rejected the proposal and disputes developed between them. She went to her native place Razole recently.
Meanwhile, Suresh’s lover came to know about his marriage and started avoiding him. Suresh argued with his wife often for not accepting his proposal of another marriage. He even made a video call to his wife on Wednesday before committing suicide, the PM Palem Circle Inspector K Ravi Kumar said. Cops sent the body for postmortem and registered a case.
