VISAKHAPATNAM: Andhra Pradesh reported 136 new Covid-19 cases on Sunday, taking the cumulative caseload to 23,17,741. The toll increased to 14,726 as one more patient succumbed to the pandemic in Chittoor district.
Altogether, 803 patients were declared cured. There are currently 2,850 active cases with 23,00,165 cumulative recoveries and 14,726 fatalities. Other than East Godavari, the remaining 12 districts have less than 500 active cases each. Three districts have less than 50 cases each.
Guntur reported 26 new cases, followed by East Godavari (25), Krishna (21), and Anantapur (15). Five districts posted single-digit case numbers, while Srikakulam and Vizianagaram did not record any new infections. State conducted 15,654 Covid-19 tests and detected 136 new cases. This translates to 0.9% daily case positivity rate, recording less than 1% positivity rate for the second consecutive day. AP has so far administered 8.54 crore vaccine doses.
