TIRUPATI: A 30-year-old Covid-19 patient jumped off a private hospital building and died at Kuppam in Chittoor district late on Tuesday night. The deceased was as a resident of Lakshmipuram locality in Kuppam municipality.
According to Kuppam police, the youngster had some family problems and he first attempted to commit suicide by consuming pesticide at home on Tuesday night. When his relatives rushed him to a private hospital, he was screened for Covid-19 in which he was found positive.
When the hospital management informed him that he had tested positive, the man, who could not bear the trauma, broke the window panes of the fourth floor of the hospital and jumped off to death even as others watched helplessly.
Kuppam police shifted the body for post-mortem and registered a case .
