Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy seeks more time from court

HYDERABAD: Days after the special sessions court for MLA & MP cases directed Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and two others to appear before the court on Monday in a 2014 pending case registered by Huzurnagar police, Jagan’s advocate sought time from the court.

The court gave the next date for hearing on March 31 when Jagan’s advocate will file a memo. The court will then take a decision on his personal appearance.

The case pertains to the 2014 general elections when the YSR Congress Party had fielded its candidate from the Huzurnagar assembly constituency. Nalgonda police had accused Jagan and two of his partymen — G Nagi Reddy and G Srikanth — for violating the model code of conduct and organising a roadshow without taking permission from the competent authority.
