Andhra Pradesh: Badvel by-election likely to be unanimous

AMARAVATI: Badvel assembly by-election looks like going the unanimous way.

While the TDP and Jana Sena have decided against putting up any candidates, the BJP, which is keen to contest, has hardly seen any presence in the constituency to make the contest colourful. Also, the state BJP is yet to get the green signal from the central leadership on putting up a candidate.

If the BJP too backs out, the ruling YSRC may explore the option of convincing the independents to withdraw their nominations and help the party win the seat uncontested.

Notwithstanding the decision of the opposition parties, YSRC has already swung into action by holding a coordination meeting in Badvel on Monday.PR minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, who is the election in-charge, Kadapa district in-charge minister Adimulapu Suresh, government advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, and Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy held discussions with mandal level leaders and assigned specific tasks to them.
